Pamella Roland DeVos School of Fashion

The Pamella Roland DeVos School of Fashion at Kendall College of Art and Design has given Pamella the opportunity to share her passion for fashion design with the next generation of designers. Poised to become a forerunner in the national fashion studies landscape, the four-year BFA program also aims to serve as a catalyst for the emergent fashion industry of West Michigan.

The Dan & Pamella DeVos Foundation’s support of the program has helped launch several unique opportunities for students, including the facilitation of a 3+1 partnership between the school and the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. This innovative arrangement allows students to complete their first three years of study in Grand Rapids and their fourth at FIT, where they have the chance to become connected with some of the leaders of fashion in the heart of the industry.

By helping to buoy the FIT partnership and other program projects including an annual fashion show, a speaker series, and the creation of a fashion incubator for students to produce small runs of their designs, Pamella hopes to help raise the profile and impact of the Pamella Roland DeVos School of Fashion. She firmly believes in the school’s ability to cultivate, grow and maintain a strong fashion talent base in Grand Rapids that could eventually become the foundation of a sustainable fashion industry in her hometown.
